PNJ is the only jewelry company listed in the Top 100 most sustainable companies in Vietnam in 2016 and honored to be among top 10. More impressively, only in the first 10 months of this year, PNJ has exceeded the year’s profit plan by 10%, reaching 510 billion dongs.
On 8 Nov 2016, in Hanoi, Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) was honored to be ranked in the Top 10 among 100 most sustainable Vietnamese companies in 2016.
The recognition ceremony was held by the Business Council for Sustainable Development in collaboration with Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the State Security Committee.
The evaluation dossier was CIPS Sustainability Index (CSI) comprising 151 highly quantitative criteria established by experts in economy, society, labor, environment fields. The CSI clearly reflects reputation, brands of businesses, their capacities in attracting human resource, operation process, development potentials in the future as well as their social responsibilities and environmental responsibilities.

As the unique jewelry company named in the said Ranking, PNJ has shown its right steps in the strategy that focuses on sustainable development with leading objectives including developing highly qualified human resources, enhancing value of the supply chain, promoting creativity in development products, environmental protection as well as regularly conducting activities that contribute to the social security.
Above criteria are also key elements in PNJ’s future development strategy that are vividly shown in the 2015 PNJ Sustainable Development Report under a comprehensive view and analysis of three major aspects: Economy – Environment –Society.
PNJ is among Top 10 sustainable Vietnamese businesses in 2016
Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung – PNJ’s General Director – said, with its sustainable development philosophy “Putting customers benefits and the society into our benefits”, for many years, PNJ had always put emphasis on and ensured harmonization in linking our benefits with the development of people, society and environment protection since this is the prerequisite for the existence and sustainable development of our company.
She affirmed that the fact PNJ being among Top 10 in the ranking of 100 most sustainable companies in Vietnam in 2016 would be a motivation for it to continue maintaining the sustainable development model that it had been building, to be persistent with its vision as becoming the leading jewelry retail trader and manufacturer in Asia, and to maintain its number 1 position in high- and middle-end segments in Vietnam’s jewelry market.
Furthermore, PNJ has just announced its business results in the first 10 months this year with notable results: total revenue reaching 6,725 billion dongs, up 15% compared to the same period last year. Of which, total revenue from retail sale increases 27% compared to the same period last year. Pre-tax profitability reaches 510 billion dong, up 33% compared to the same period last year. The business has achieved 110% of the year’s plan.
Besides, PNJ’s retail distribution system has also recorded a strong development with the launch of 20 new branch stores, increasing the total number of retail stores to 226 in 47 provinces and cities nationwide, maintaining its position as the jewelry company with the largest distribution system throughout the country.
